I Samuel 9-12

O the transformation that happens by the power of the Holy Spirit, the apostle Paul writes to the Galatian church about the fruit of walking in the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22,25 (NKJV) "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law... If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."

The fruit of walking and living in the Spirit is a better more virtuous way to be and to be baptized in the power of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands facilitates transformative power. After the prophet Samuel anointed Saul the Benjamite king of Israel, he gave instructions for Saul to be at Bethel to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

I Samuel 10:6 (NKJV) "Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man."

Imagine how being filled with the Holy Spirit transforms you into an entirely different person. I think back to when I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit when I was in 4th grade, Sue Detweiler laid hands on a group of us at Base 4,5,6 Camp one summer and in short order after that I was released in a spiritual language. What is your story about being filled with the Holy Spirit? How did receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit radically transform your life?
